Did you know that the Careers Service can provide you with feedback on your job application?

To get feedback on your job application (resume, cover letter, selection criteria, etc), upload your document/s through the Ask A Question button in CareerHub and a Careers staff member will provide you with feedback within one business day.

Alternatively, if you would prefer to receive feedback on your job application documents in person, the following options are available*:

  • Callaghan: Drop by our office to access our Career Express service in the Shortland Union Building between 9.00am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (no appointment necessary). We are located on Level 3 (upstairs from Subway).
  • Newcastle City, Sydney, Online: You can book in for a resume check, cover letter review, or selection criteria review through CareerHub.
  • Ourimbah: Book into a Career Express appointment by phoning (02) 4921 5588, or through the Ask A Question button in CareerHub. Please specify the time and date of your preferred appointment from those listed in CareerHub, and your preferred method (phone, Zoom, or face-to-face).

Before uploading your documents or making an appointment, be sure to log in CareerHub has a range of useful resources that are designed to help you with each step of your job application. This includes resources on resumes, cover letters and selection criteria - all designed to help ensure you have covered every step to land that job.

Career Essentials also has a range of useful tools to help you polish your job application. This includes a cover letter builder, resume builder, and Resume Reviewer. By uploading your draft resume to Resume Reviewer, you will receive instant, detailed feedback as the tool scores your resume against more than 50 automated checks. After making changes you can reload your resume to see how your score has increased.
