What is Stepping into Internship Program?
About the Stepping Into Internship Program
Internships will generally last 4 to 8 weeks (with the opportunity for flexible work hours to manage your disability or other commitments).
Am I eligible?
- Stage of study: final or second last year of university (undergraduate or postgraduate degrees)
- Discipline of study: All are encouraged to apply
- Citizenship status: Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or international student with full working rights in Australia
- Location: Open to students located in metro and regional areas across Australia
- We welcome previous Stepping Into applicants to re-apply for the program!
AND accepts applications from students with all types of disability including, but not limited to: physical disability, mental health conditions, sensory impairments and immunological conditions. Find out more about disability types here.

Read the details on our information page for students and complete our online application form here by 3th April 2022.
Already applied previously?
There is no limitation on how many you can apply or participate in the program. We are happy to reconsider previous applicants of the Stepping Into program. Contact us on 1300 36 36 45 or email applications@and.org.au to request your previous application be copied. Please review the positions available and submit at least three position preferences to applications@and.org.au

Information Session
Over the coming weeks, we will be facilitating information sessions online.
The sessions will offer an overview of the Stepping Into program. The Australian Network on Disability team will talk about how the program works, what the application process is like, and answer any questions you have about Stepping Into.
