Applications are now open for the University of Newcastle's inaugural Women in STEM mentoring program.

The program provides women and non-binary undergraduate students who are studying and/or working towards a career in a STEM field, the opportunity to be matched to a mentor. Mentors are members of our alumni community or an industry professional working or undertaking research in a STEM field.

The program aims to:

  • Guide and motivate you as you complete your studies and work towards a career in STEM
  • Assist you to explore opportunities and learn career management techniques from established STEM professionals
  • Develop skills for your personal and professional growth
  • Support you in creating a professional network

Your commitment to a mentoring relationship would include:

  • Undertaking four one-hour mentoring sessions (face to face, phone, or video conferencing) from August to November
  • Participating in a goal setting event
  • Attending a networking event where you will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, students, staff, and the Alumni community of the University of Newcastle
  • Completing the end of program evaluation

To complete your application, visit the Women in STEM Mentoring webpage, read through the FAQ’s and view the mentor profiles in the Meet the Mentor Handbook.

Applications close Sunday 24th July 2022.
